Post-Dementation

Syed, may your heroic deeds and nonsensical-humor be within our hearts and the TBC. Live well in KL.

Wow, one of my close friends just questioned me how long my band will be an "underground". It kind of insulted me. He logged out before I could ask him why he asked me that. Maybe he had a bad day and he used me to channel his anger.

Music N' Stuff
Anyway, another friend of mine asked whether Ensis could ally with his band. Prophency Of Life. An interesting 6-piece with a male and female vocals, playing alternative metal and fusion. More interestingly, they have no leader. Which means they rise together as one. We will look forward to this.

As for Ensis, we will have one last jamming, before me and yazid will be involved in a side-project Tapestry gig/audition. Yazid plays guitar with progressive folk warriors Coventide. I play guitars with the melodic-death fighting forces Assault/Nullified.

Azi's band will be at tapestry too. Other than that, he invited me to play bass in his other band playing punk rock. Its a hobby band, so it's okay for me to join in the fun; for fun.

Okay, now to listen to mp3 files "shared" with farid. Darkest appreciations.

Under Dementation

Hello visitors, Our dear Sufiyan is going through some strange and crazy sh*tty process. For the time being, here are some updates:
  • Sufiyan has lost his precious old blogskin, thanks to the stupid "upgrade layout" by blogspot. At the moment, his tagboard is missing too.
  • He has bought a new portable hard disk. Just added a thousand mp3 files into it. Sufiyan's newest best friend.
  • Thanks to Arjaay, he has added 9 Megadeth albums into it. Not forgetting Sir Frost and EnsiKnight Flame who contributed 10 more viking metal albums!
  • Sufiyan also discovered Richard Cheese, a jazz-comedy musician who covered American Idiot, Choy Suey, Freak On A Leash, Welcome To The Jungle and other mainstream rock hits. Check him out you universal-music enthusiasts!
  • Lastly, he is getting bored of Nick's Viking Metal group @ friendster...

Reveries

I wasn't myself these past few days. My faith weakened. I sense a black mark in my heart. A plague in my brain. And of course, too much doubts in my head.

I've been listening to Sentenced's The Cold White Light and Celtic Frost's Monotheist. Some dark-themed stuff.

Well, listening to Sentenced's suicidal-rock concept made me feel the "down". And I'm the kind of person who feels my music a lot different than others. The 6th track from Monotheist really brought me to a lower ground.

Depression. Loss of internal and external esteem. The unpleasant distortion in my head that gave sleepless nights.

I just wanted someone who could feel my grey-colouring soul. Forgive me God.

I just turned 18

So I just turned 18.

A day before my birthday, I went to my granny's house. I received 20 bucks from grandma, 10 bucks from Auntie Su and another 10 bucks from grandpa.

Dad gave me 50 bucks too; I spent it on a new shoe. I was a "hiking" shoe, something like Timberland and it looked like Dr Martens boots too. Yes, converse and sneakers are way TOO common nowdays. And wanted to feel unique.

Big sis gave me a desk lamp as a present. Now that's smart thinking. I don't have it since we moved in 7 years ago!

Mum gave me the most important present ever. Briefs. Most of my old boxers and briefs looked like Corey's mask from Slipknot.

I would like to give a big hug to my wonderful family!

Jamm Session 13 Apr

Ah.. It's Friday the 13th. Just like other last Fridays, it rained. Me and Idris were stuck at the Sultan Mosque right after the Friday prayers. Some fifteen minutes, heavy rain turned into drizzle. And we headed for bras basah road.

We meet with Syaz and Yazid there just for a handshake. The Druids have jamming in 15 minutes' time.

Then roamed at bras basah complex. I was looking for a nylon guitar strap. But then I wanted to get more adventurous and we headed to peninsula. We also met Khairee there.

But then again, I realised that bras basah products are way cheaper! So we headed back to bugis...

A Jamm With The Elders

Coventide and Ensisventide shared the studio that day. Our blood ties are strong. We are not just allies, but brothers at arms in battle.

Coventide also jammed Ensiferum's Old Man and Kiss Of Babylon with me as guest vocals. I am more than pleased. The two songs which also Ensiknights are learning.

Jaani had just produced some lyrics for Saved By The Fire. It suited well and its reminds me of Rotting Christ's Enuma Elish. Neat work.

The Long Awaited Reonion

Ensis last jammed on late January. As predicted, we would perform quite poorly.

Kiss Of Babylon would be the 1st time we did "plugged" and I was struggling between my vocals and bass. Fortunately, brothers Jaani and Syaz were there to assist us. Aiiri Frost also gave directions to Idris to the drum beats. Generous guidance from the elders.

Old Man would be our best number. Well, maybe some sloppy parts. Song Of War needs further improvement, especially Khairee's guitar solos. And I need to throw in better basslines into the piece.

Special thanks to the Druids for the reinforcements and phototaking. Aiiri for the booking. And to Khairee with his handy digicam.

We may lost vocalist Hasyim and the others, but the newfound blood ties gives us a stronger fighting spirit. Wield our swords and sabres! \m/
