Ah.. It's Friday the 13th. Just like other last Fridays, it rained. Me and Idris were stuck at the Sultan Mosque right after the Friday prayers. Some fifteen minutes, heavy rain turned into drizzle. And we headed for bras basah road.
We meet with Syaz and Yazid there just for a handshake. The Druids have jamming in 15 minutes' time.
Then roamed at bras basah complex. I was looking for a nylon guitar strap. But then I wanted to get more adventurous and we headed to peninsula. We also met Khairee there.
But then again, I realised that bras basah products are way cheaper! So we headed back to bugis...
A Jamm With The Elders
Coventide and Ensisventide shared the studio that day. Our blood ties are strong. We are not just allies, but brothers at arms in battle.
Coventide also jammed Ensiferum's Old Man and Kiss Of Babylon with me as guest vocals. I am more than pleased. The two songs which also Ensiknights are learning.
Jaani had just produced some lyrics for Saved By The Fire. It suited well and its reminds me of Rotting Christ's Enuma Elish. Neat work.
The Long Awaited Reonion
Ensis last jammed on late January. As predicted, we would perform quite poorly.
Kiss Of Babylon would be the 1st time we did "plugged" and I was struggling between my vocals and bass. Fortunately, brothers Jaani and Syaz were there to assist us. Aiiri Frost also gave directions to Idris to the drum beats. Generous guidance from the elders.
Old Man would be our best number. Well, maybe some sloppy parts. Song Of War needs further improvement, especially Khairee's guitar solos. And I need to throw in better basslines into the piece.
Special thanks to the Druids for the reinforcements and phototaking. Aiiri for the booking. And to Khairee with his handy digicam.
We may lost vocalist Hasyim and the others, but the newfound blood ties gives us a stronger fighting spirit. Wield our swords and sabres! \m/
